10,777 Mobile Homes

There was an article in the paper on Saturday, stating that 10,777 fully furnished mobile homes, intended for Katrina victims' housing, are sitting in Hope, Arkansas, and not being delivered to Louisiana ... when asked, FEMA officials say federal and local Louisiana regulations are preventing the trailers being sent to where they are needed.

What the hell is that about ...? Somebody in the federal and state administrations needs to pull their collectives from where the sun don't shine and alleviate those "roadblocks" ; or, perhaps thousands of folks living intents is better than hving a (semi-permanent) roof over their heads.

We're just going to see more and more evidence of ineptitude and inefficiency as investigations into the actions of those who should have been in charge and making decisions. My own agency's offer of boats and personnel for search and rescue immediately before and after the hurricance hit were never acted upon .... "Great job, Brownie".
